About the programme
The school is responding to the demands of today's rapidly changing world and to how difficult it is, at the age of 15, to decide on the direction of further study or a career.
Besides a general education and preparation for university or a higher vocational school, Lyceum 2.0 offers deeper insight into a field that students choose in the upper years. The programme has enough optional lessons for specialisation and great potential on the labour market.
In the Lyceum 2.0 programme the school offers:
- A broad general education that allows further study at university or a higher vocational school
- Easy progression between secondary school, university and higher vocational school – the school offers higher vocational studies in tourism
- Three foreign languages – English and German form the core, and the third foreign language can be chosen from French, Italian and Spanish; all three foreign languages provide competences in tourism and the ability to understand cultures in today's complicated world, and students are also prepared for international exams
- Tourism, hotel management and the spa industry in the context of today's world with all its economic and environmental aspects and impacts on society, with an emphasis on sustainable tourism development and the tourism services of the future – the use of AI
- Cultural heritage and its use in tourism, in connection with its global impact
- Economics and marketing in relation to current issues and the ability to find one's way in these areas, the use of marketing in tourism, hotel management and the spa industry
- IT and digital skills in communication and AI; working with IT systems in tourism, the opportunity to obtain the ECDL / ICDL certificate (European / International Certification of Digital Literacy and Digital Skills) in cooperation with external organisations
Students gain the knowledge and competences of their chosen field in cooperation with industry professionals, including through excursions and internships, and have the opportunity to obtain professional qualifications or micro-credentials in tourism (tour guide; travel agency employee – incoming tourism specialist; tourist information centre employee).
A medical certificate is not required.
